Soldiers waved iraqi flags and celebrated in the streets, even though sporadic resistance by cornered isis militans continues. It was safe enough for iraqs Prime Minister Haider Alabadi to go to mosul and announce its liberation and congratulate troops on their victory. This victory has had its costs. Iraqi Army Casualties were high the army wont reveal figures, but the pentagon has said the elite unit that spearheaded the offensive suffered 40 losses. Storms roll through, roberta. It was really exciting. It was very exciting because we had a couple different elements going on. First the cold front and then all that subtropical moisture and when they came together, it produced one of the biggest storms of the year. You had to go back to march 11 to find something with significant rainfall like what we experienced yesterday. And, um, it looks like yesterday we did see up to 7 inches of rain in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Wow. We saw up to 9 inches of rain in the venado area, which is a little suburb and thats just about 11 miles west of healdsburg. The computer is giving me some problems and i have to go back and requeue it. So if you want to take a look at it now you know what . I had to reboot this computer a couple of times yesterday because it was the hardest working computer in the entire west coast. [ laughter ] it really was. On this wednesday, first day in the month of march. David and karen i guess its coming in as a lion. It is later this afternoon. Were starting out tranquil and mild but later this afternoon we are at a slight risk of Severe Weather for afternoon thunderstorms in particular and you can see this yellow all over the area. What that is denoting is that slight risk of severe thunderstorms. In fact its a moderate risk in this orange area that you see on the other side of lancaster. So, what were talking about here is that if any thunderstorm does form, particularly afternoon thunderstorms, they would have the potential of producing damaging wind gusts so you do wants to take cover from any storm that heads your way. In fact if your kids are getting out of school and its 3 oclock and the sky is turning ominous tell them just to stay in the school for a half hour and let this stuff go through. Some showers are and possible this morning but the big bulk of the issue today is this line of heavie
