Fishers has ordered bars and restaurants to close at 10 p.m. beginning Christmas Day until Jan. 8 because of surging coronavirus cases, a move designed to tamp down potential superspreader events around New Year s Eve.
Mayor Scott Fadness said the order by the health department was to curtail risky behavior in the middle of a pandemic when our infection rates are soaring. Part of this is to address New Year s, he said, and those large holiday activities that could lead to community spread.
