Deepwater rockfish areas will close at the end of April, and only nearshore waters inside of the 20 fathom (120 feet) line will be open for rockfish, cabezon and lingcod.
What we all knew was coming allegedly has been codified. No official announcement has been issued as yet but sportsmen following this week’s Pacific Fishery Management Council meetings say it has been voted to close all salmon fishing in the State of California for the 2024 season.
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has approved the rockfish, lingcod and greenling (RCG) regulations for the 2024 fishing season, finally. Apparently one final submission and legal approval is due before the season goes into full official effect.
