Mr. Speaker, mr. Pro tem, madam president , honored legislators, mr. Chief justice, members of the judiciary, my fellow constitutional members, family, friends, my fellow idahoans, what a year. Life sure has changed for me. On some weekends i go home to the ranch, visit my family and friends. One day i was in my normal emmett uniform, levis, hat, getting fuel. The guy at the adjacent fuel pump kind of glanced at me a couple of times. As i was paying, he sauntered up and says, has anyone ever told you you look like brad little . I proudly said yes. He said, makes you mad, doesnt it . So much for glory in emmett. I could not have accomplished this much this past year, or most of my life, without the support of my wife, your first lady, theresa. Its rewarding to watch so many people learn about her. Theresa is selfless and thoughtful. She loves our family and our state. And im proud of you, theresa, im grateful to have you at my side. The celebration of an important milestone is upon us i

You cannot make a brilliant speech where they say that is an incredible eloquent speech when im talking about dishwashers, sinks, toilets, light bulbs,. [cheering] but sinks . Toilets . And showers . You dont get any water. They put restrictors on them, now they made them permanent. People used to take them out. They put restrictors on

Im just recapping them before we return them to you to consider them for voting. So the tenyear capital plan and the twoyear budget development, youll remember that i talked about the planning framework of prop e that requires tenyear capital plans. The first two years of the capital plan form the budget request. This is the First Capital plan for cleanpowersf, really focusing on local build. And we went through a new quality review process with all of our capital plan submittals. Amongst the three oh, sorry. Amongst the three enterprises, you can see that waste water represents the largest share of the 9 billion capital over the next ten years, which is why its driving, and projecting the future bill. Here is the tenyear capital plan compared to last year. There was an increase of will 4 , largely because of hetchy water and power, a

I still have really fond memories of being on that mountain and i love playing on that mound. I think its an incredible, you know, for the kids to get to put
The committee will come to order. Good morning to everyone and without objection, the chair is authorized to declare a recess of the committee at any time. With that, i will now recognize myself for my Opening Statement. I am honored to be convening todays hearing. My very first as chairwoman. As we continue to mourn the loss of our dear friend and colleague, chairman elijah cummings. And as i sit here today in his chair, i am mindful of his Lifelong Mission to seek not only Common Ground but higher ground. With that in mind, i am very pleased to hold todays hearing on an issue we have been fighting for, for many years. The need for comprehensive paid, family, and medical leave. It is an important its important for people to understand the Current Situation in our country. Right now, we are one of only two nations in the world that does not provide our workers with any form of paid family or medical leave. The United States and papua new guinea.
