A row of bright red and blue lights greeted children and hospital workers at four medical centers Wednesday night, courtesy of San Antonio’s first responders.
Police, firefighters and sheriff‘s deputies parked outside of the hospitals as part of First Responders’ Christmas Night Lights Extravaganza.
Joe Arrington, a San Antonio Fire Department spokesman, said it was easy for them to take some time out of the day and put a smile on kid’s faces.
“If we can take a moment to distract the kids from why they’re in the hospital, that’s the least we can do,” Arrington said. “We hope we can continue to do it next year.”
