Arkansas Children's Northwest champions gathered Aug. 5-6 for the 27th annual Will Golf 4 Kids Tournament and on Aug. 7 for the 13th annual Color of Hope Gala, which took the form of privately hosted tailgates, rather than a ballroom full of backers. The events helped raise more than $1.36 million to benefit Arkansas Children's Northwest. Organizers say all funds raised will stay local and support hematology and oncology services at the Children's hospital in Northwest Arkansas.

LOCK HAVEN First Quality Enterprises, Inc. has announced that First Quality Hygienic Inc., will discontinue manufacturing and selling tampons in summer 2021.
“First Quality remains committed to the feminine care category. The company will continue to provide innovative sanitary pads and liners alongside its adult incontinence products, baby diapers, training and youth pants and wipes,” the company said in a press release emailed to The Express Wednesday afternoon.
First Quality Hygienic employees will be offered alternative employment opportunities to continue their careers at other First Quality Group companies, the release stated.
Further details, including the reason for the shut-down were not reported in the release, and attempts to speak with local officials at First Quality were not successful.
