SIDNEY The Shelby County United Way special projects committee reviews grants on a monthly basis that impact the community in the areas of Health, Education, and Financial Stability.
The committee approved requested grants in January and February. Agape Distribution was awarded $3,500 in January to assist with security and lighting upgrades as they have been victim to multiple acts of vandalization, including damage to the mobile pantry. The First Presbyterian Church’s Munch Bunch was awarded $5,000 to assist with weekend backpack hunger. They deliver bags of food to the Sidney Elementary buildings and to Hardin-Houston School District.
