put him in the general population other military men, you never know what could happen to this guy. that s a very good point. in fact, when an institution has a rson in custody who who is at risk because of whatever they have been accused of doing and the general population knows about it, the confining institution has to make decisions about the person s safety. but, right now, as i understand it, we haven t heard anything, which demonstrates that the institution believes. eric: do you know what happened, nicole, if you put him in the general population, something bad happens and he is killed someone else took offense to his leaking all these documents and he was killed. the left would be outraged. they would be absolutely outraged saying how could you put him in the general population? how could you protect him? they certainly have to be careful what they ask for. certainly the prison could do exactly what they have asked him to do and put him him back in general population i
that s imperative. eric: just a few seconds. do you agree with that? oh, i do. i think, again, what we need to do is have the naval inspector general go in there and take a look and be open about this instead of having this political stunt machine going on. eric: thank you to jed and nicole. thank you very much. straight ahead, sarah palin has a hit tv show and another best selling book. how does all of that play in the world of politics? o reilly and the governor hash it out next. and, later, gas blunders and clarifications and, no, i m not talking about new york football. sound bites from some of the most important people in the country over the last few days. we ll be right back.
having read the charge sheets that they re going to be further charges preferred against this guy. and then we will go to trial. i mean, look how long it took to bring the fort hood shooter to trial. it s still, what, a year and three quarters or a year and a half? i mean, it takes a while. it s a big, complicated case. a lot of people, a lot of documents. it s going to take some time. eric: what about that, nicole, the fort hood shooter if he hasn ted of anything yet. saw him shoot 13 or 14 feel and kill him. should he be allowed the same thing that allowed private manng walk amongst the general prison population? our justice system works best when the people within it are treated fairly and the same. that means that we have to be when we are as powerful as we in for it to work well we have to treat the most reviolated of the criminals accused in our system as fairly as the most minor accusation for our justice
partially right. the man has not been convicted of anything yet. there is a loft reasons to keep him in solitary confinement. not the least of which is safety. bringing is not the place you want to spend a relaxing afternoon. he might be in danger from other sources. the real point here, eric, this is a political stunt by his lawyers and his sympathizers. they are trying to make him into some poster child for abuse in the military. they actually have the nerve right now of accusing the people at quantico of torturing this man. that is outrageous. that would be major crime under the uniformed code of military justice. if they were serious about protecting him. if they were serious about getting some correction of his circumstance, which they manifestly are not, they wouldn t be going to the u.n. they wouldn t be going to the media they would be going to the military judge or the inspector general, which they have not done. eric: nicole, what about that? what about for his own safety k
