MANILA - The Akbayan party-list on Tuesday asked the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to reconsider its decision junking their petition to disqualify presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. from the May 9 elections. In a 16-page motion for reconsideration (MR), Akbayan chairperson emeritus Etta Rosales, First Nominee Percival Cendana, and Second Nominee Dr. RJ Naguit called on the Comelec en banc to reverse the decision of its First Division and include the points raised by retired Commissioner Rowena Guanzon in her separate opinion in the deliberation of the case. First Division presiding Commissioner Rowena Guanzon said she would order Dr. Benedict Francis Valdecanas, Marcos' attending physician, to submit a notarized medical certificate that was read by the respondent's lawyer during the January 7 preliminary conference. MANILA - The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has given the parties in the two disqualification cases filed against presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bong Bong" Marcos Jr. 48 hours to file their memoranda. Presiding Commissioner Rowena Guanzon ordered petitioners Bonifacio Ilagan, and Akbayan and Marcos to submit through electronic mail (e-mail) their memorandum on Sunday. "Lawyers hereby given 48 hours to file their memorandum. Your 48 hours begin noon today (Friday). You're to file memorandum via email. And hard copy the next day.
