Lightning close call this morning was in presidio in San Francisco. Look at this eucalyptus tree that was nearly split down the middle. Grounds keepers were working yards away in the cemetery when it happen. This blast was about three times as bright as the sun. I looked over and lightning just obliterated the tree. It totally destroyed it. Reporter the groundskeeper was not hurt, but he said it was so loud that his ears were ringing for a long time afterward.
