Plans for new homes on Firs Road, Alderbury, criticised

Firs Road plans PLANS to build 50 new homes in Alderbury have been criticised as bland, urban and somewhat monotonous . Submitted by Vistry Homes, the plans are for the erection of 50 residential dwellings, pumping station and replacement guide hut with associated infrastructure, parking, landscaping, open space and works , on land off Firs Road. The proposals are for five two-bedroom houses, 22 three-bed and 12 four-bed (open market), and five two-bed, five three-bed, and one four-bed (affordable). Firs Road plans The land was previously occupied by Alderbury Football Club. New football changing rooms and facilities have been approved for Alderbury FC to the north east of the site with a new access route from Firs Road.

Teen drug driver from Milnthorpe is fined | The Westmorland Gazette

A MILNTHORPE teenager has been fined for drug driving, a court heard. On June 6, Connor Thorpe, 19, was driving in Grange when he was found to have delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in his blood, namely 3.8ug/L , exceeding the specified limit of 2ug/L, South Cumbria Magistrates Court was told. The Firs Road resident was fined £207 and had his driving licence endorsed with 10 points. He also had to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £85, totalling £326. The magistrates said the defendant s guilty plea taken into account when imposing sentence.

Roadworks taking place in Colchester over the coming weeks

Here are some of the key works being carried out in the coming weeks: The Causeway, Great Horkesley The Causeway, in Great Horkesley, will temporarily close from a point approximately 95m north-west of its junction with Tile House Lane for a distance of about 275m. The closure is scheduled to start on January 4 for 19 days, or where stated on a valid permit.
