2021-05-20 11:35:29 GMT2021-05-20 19:35:29(Beijing Time) Xinhua English FIROZ KOAH, Afghanistan, May 20 (Xinhua) Unknown armed militants in the western Ghor province intercepted a car and after checking the commuters gunned down three passengers on Thursday, provincial government spokesman Zalmay Karimi said. The passengers were going from Ghor to the neighboring Herat province on Thursday morning when the armed insurgents stopped the car outside provincial capital Firoz Koah and shot them dead on the spot, Karimi asserted. Karimi also blamed the Taliban militants for abduction and murdering the passengers, but the armed group has yet to claim responsibility. In another violent incident an explosive device went off outside Firoz Koah on Wednesday night, killing three civilians and injuring three others, said the official.

In the latest waves of violence, a roadside bomb blast in the western Ghor province on Thursday afternoon killed four persons from the same family, provincial government spokesman Zalmay Karimi said. Four members of a family including father, mother and their two children were riding a motorbike towards their home in Kharak area but unfortunately a mine planted by militants struck the motorbike killing all the four on the spot, Karimi told Xinhua.
