seemed to really try to focus on the inspector general report as if references to the fact that i was caught, really interesting in light of the fact that we knew for quite some time, and i ve known for quite some time, that the president was very focused on removing me long before there was an inspector general investigation, and certainly long before that report was ever finished. in fact the president s draft letter firing jim comey mentioned the fact that comey had not fired you as one of the reasons for firing comey. that s right. that s right. so it wasn t disturbing enough to have the president raise me with former director comey on three separate occasions across their somewhat awkward personal interactions. he would bring my name up and say what s the story with that guy, does he have a problem with me. and then of course that culminates with his reference in the letter as one of the reasons why he was firing director comey, because of director comey s failure to fire me.
that sounds like a better prospect than what we have. absolutely. there is not much chance that democrats on the hill could pursue liberal issues with a republican in the white house but because president trump is shown to be a menace to american democracy and mounting an assault on the rule of law from firing director comey on down and he has vilified immigrants in the most egregious terms as animals and who infest and breed and catered to white supremacists and launched trade wars and insulted our allies and kowtowed to north korea and russia and so in the republican party it has been okay with that. the republican party have been his enablers and i think it is essential, even if i disagree with democrats on some issues, it is essential for democrats to win in november to act as a
develop a case like this. i mean pressuring mr. comey not to go after general flynn, firing director comey, trying to fire mueller twice. there s a whole series of things he s done. and i think there are members of congress in their words and deeds, i don t know if it s a legal issue, but clearly they are helping him obstruct the investigation, whether that s a legal aspect of this or just the general sense of we re going to make it as difficult as possible for you to find out what took place here. right, and look, it s a serious statement you make about a set of very serious issues, particularly because we re speaking here in the two-week period after which there was this unusual release of classified information on a rank obvious partisan basis because the republican memo was released, the democratic memo has not been released. then you have the number three
again. we are ticking off the people who have been interviewed but in a major investigation like this with complicated facts, it certainly wouldn t be out of the ordinary for mueller s team to go back to these people more than once, more than twice. because it really looks like mueller s investigation is heating up. last week, two indictments, a guilty plea, a lot more revelations emerging. this train is moving. the train is moving. it s heating up. i think we ll hear more things. one interview in and of itself does not tell you the whole picture. if he was involved in the deliberations around firing director comey, there are two documents already out there that are inconsistent. one is the rob rosenstein memo that lays out reasons related to hillary clinton that suggest the president lost confidence in director comey. the president sent a letter directly to director comey saying i asked you three times if i was under investigation. i didn t like the answer,
responded. the president wasn t right in firing director comey, we have learned new information about his conduct. it only provided further justification for that firing, including giving false testimony, licking privileged information to journalist, he went outside of the shame of command, he put an investigation into a candidate. your thoughts? it did not work out very well in the sense that they didn t bring on the independent prosecutor. the special counsel, which continues to plague the president and his administration. the reason that sarah sanders gives they are arguable, but in some respects they are compelling, it is unfortunate for the president to that he did not list them in that form when he carried out to the act. had he done so, perhaps it would have gone better, but it was clumsily handled, so i would like to amend mr. bannon s
