The railroad company behind the use of a “bait truck” on Chicago’s South Side last week released three videos Friday that appeared to show the suspects who were arrested in the operation breaking into the truck, saying in a statement that it will no longer employ the controversial tactic after it drew condemnation from community activists and local leaders.

The city of Chicago has shut down a South Side bar that violated statewide COVID-19 mandates over the weekend by holding an event with nearly 100 attendees. The bar also hosted a pre-Election Day rally for former President Donald Trump. The city’s announcement came Thursday when it shared the results of its latest report which details how inspectors responded to COVID-19 complaints, including restaurants that alleged allow indoor dining. The report listed 13 venues.
