The Lake Valley Fire Protection District, Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District, and North Lake Tahoe Fire District have all implemented 2022 fire restrictions in line with those previously announced by South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue, Meeks Bay Fire, and North Tahoe Fire.

ZEPHYR COVE, Nev. - A team from Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District (TDFPD) spent much of Sunday night pumping water out of homes after a water main broke, sending thousands of gallons of water down the hill from Zephyr Heights. The main broke on North Martin after opening a six-inch lateral to the main pipe.

LAKE TAHOE, Nev. - There has been a change in command at Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District (TDFPD). Chief Gregory Scott Baker has retired and passed the department flag to new Chief Scott Lindgren during a small ceremony Wednesday.
The passing of the department flag symbolizing the leadership change. The ceremony also included the pinning of Chief Lindgren whose daughter had the duty.
Baker has been with TDFPD since 2016, joining them after his retirement from Reno Fire where he served over 20 years. Baker also served in the Nevada Air National Guard for over 27 years in various positions - Mission Commander, Detachment Commander, Flight Lead, Safety Investigation Board President, Flight Commander, and Senior Navigator and served a tour in Iraq.
