Representatives Buddy Carter and Bob Good signed onto fellow Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene s legislation that would reduce the salary of Dr. Anthony Fauci, America s leading infectious disease expert, to $0.
The release of thousands of Fauci s emails ignited renewed criticism of his response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the early dismissal of the Wuhan Institute of Virology as the origin of the outbreak.
Some legislators have called for Fauci to be fired from his position as director of the National Institute of Virology, and Candace Owens, a conservative commentator, went as far as to advocate for his imprisonment.
In March, it was revealed that Ms Greene was one lawmaker who was not planning to receive a vaccine for the novel virus.

The Independent has contacted Ms Greene’s office to ask whether her opinion has since changed.
Ms Greene has also introduced a Fire Fauci Act in the House of Representatives that targeted Dr Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and chief medical director to President Joe Biden.
WA-3 candidate to speak at rally headlined by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene
Joe Kent, a Republican running for Southwest Washington’s congressional seat, is speaking at a rally this Saturday headlined by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Kent is one of a handful of speakers billed on the event’s flyer in addition to Greene, a Republican from Georgia. Other guests include former Trump campaign data strategist Matthew Braynard and a candidate challenging moderate GOP Rep. Liz Cheney for her House seat.
The “America First Rally” will be hosted Saturday by the Republican Women of Indian River County, located on the east Florida coast.
