KITTERY, Maine Firefighters from multiple communities responded to a home fire Monday night on 7 Old Cutts Road in frigid conditions.
Kittery Fire Department Chief David O Brien said the only person in the home escaped without injuries, though her two dogs did not make it out of the house with her, according to the chief.
The chief said his crews received a call for a two-alarm structure fire at 7:10 p.m. and were on scene six minutes later.
At 9:15 p.m., O Brien said responding authorities were checking the burned home for the pets, fearing the worst.
Looking for animals Literally, we’re in the process of looking for the animals now, O Brien said.
