MERIDENÂ âFirefighters responded to a garage fire on Gale Avenue late Sunday night.Â
The fire at 206 Gale Ave. was reported around 11 p.m. and was extinguished in about 20 minutes, Fire Chief Ken Morgan said. Arriving firefighters found a large fire in the detached garage. The freezing conditions caused some issues for first responders. One firefighter and one police officer were treated at the scene for slip and fall type minor injuries, Morgan said. Neither was taken to the hospital.Â
