If an agreement is reached, Riviera plans to proceed with designs for a potential water distribution site at the location. After discussions at the Feb. 15 council meeting, the item will move into a first and second reading during the March meetings. The site is currently used by the Fire Department and houses Fire Station 2. Riviera reached out to the city in 2018 about purchasing property to create additional water capability in the area. They were allowed to perform test wells at the site during 2019, believing at the time they could utilize a portion of the property instead of the entire lot. After results came back

Non-subscribers Foley Fire Department approved to purchase AEDs & Automated CPR machines via CARES Act Posted By Jessica Vaughn FOLEY - The Foley Fire Department has been approved to purchase five Lucas Compression Devices (automated CPR machines) and ten AEDs (automatic external defibrillators through the CARES Act. The decision to go through the CARES Act came after the department was denied for an AFG grant for these pieces of equipment. “We were looking at things that were eligible for the CARES Act funds, and I found out that some other municipalities had received these same types of equipment through the CARES Act fund, so we reevaluated what our needs were,” said Fire Chief Joey Darby.
