HORNELL Memorial Day weekend is often the start of backyard barbecue and bonfire season.
As the weather warms and summertime holidays approach, Hornell officials are reminding residents that the city has regulations governing recreational fires.
“We live in this community together and need to respect all of our neighbors,” Hornell Fire Chief Frank Brzozowski said. “Please understand that there are individuals that have respiratory issues that can inhibit their enjoyment of outdoor activities during smoky conditions.
