A $3 million change order for the company that runs Augusta’s wastewater treatment plan is drawing questions as it heads to the Augusta Commission for approval.
Commission committees also will take up a proposed nondiscrimination ordinance and crafting a new memorandum of understanding with Gold Cross EMS during Tuesday commission committee meetings.
Macon-based ESG Operations Inc., which has operated the Messerly Wastewater Treatment Plant on Doug Barnard Parkway for more than a decade, is increasing its annual fee by approximately $300,000 to $6.3 million and adding $2.5 million in “additional work” in the request being presented by new Augusta Utilities Director Wes Byne.
