The Ministry of Labour and Employment will provide Tk 2 lakh to each family of the people who died in in the fire and subsequent explosions at BM Container Depot in Sitakunda upazila last night, Mominur Rahman, deputy commissioner of Chattogram, had said.
In a statement sent to the media this evening (June 5, 2022), they announced Tk 10 lakh as compensation for each of the family of the deceased and Tk 6 lakh for the seriously injured people or any person who have lost any organ in the explosion, and Tk 4 lakh for the others injured in the explosion, reports our Chattogram staff correspondent.
The death toll in the BM Container Depot explosion and fire has increased to four while at least 50 people, including police and fire service personnel, have sustained burn injuries in Sitakunda upazila of Chattogram.
