Shannon Esra is obsessed with her âDouble Jeopardyâ-esque role in Lioness

Months after blowing fans away in the 13-part drama series, âStill Breathingâ, Shannon Esra returns to M-Net in another compelling drama, âLionessâ.
This time, she plays Samantha Hugo, a suburban housewife and doting mother of three.
Although she appears to have it all, it is a smokescreen to the pervading insecurity, infidelity and unhappiness, which stems from the neglect of her workaholic husband.

In a recent chat with Esra, she said: âCandice (âStill Breathingâ) is such a different kettle of fish to Sam.
M-Net is premiering a brand-new original TV series,
Lioness on the channel this month.
The 10-part crime drama will air on
DStv 101 from
28 January at
20:30 at tells the story of a woman who loses her children, her lover, and her freedom when she is framed for fraud committed by her husband before his death.
Taking on the lead role of Samantha is Shannon Esra who plays a character that tends to get herself in trouble, especially when she impulsively seeks out adventure to cater for her boundless energy and passion.
The show also stars Jacques Bessenger, Frank Rautenbach, Nokuthula Mavuso, Gerald Steyn, Joshua Eady, Fiona Ramsay, Natasha Sutherland and more.
