Tribute to victims of Malaysian war A MEMORIAL to Second World War heroes will be a focal point for many soldiers and their relatives. The last resting places of many Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders and other British soldiers who died fighting the Japanese in Malaysia are still not known because of confusion and censorship during the war. But now a commemorative stone has been erected at Finlaystone House, the former home of the late General Sir Gordon MacMillan of the Argylls. It was unveiled recently at a ceremony attended by serving and retired soldiers, as well as Army cadets and relatives of the men who died.
