The Mynderse Academy and Newark varsity boys basketball teams split their regular season match-ups in Finger Lakes East play this season but the rubber match would come on the biggest of stages for Section V basketball, the Blue Cross Arena, with the Class B Championship on the line.
In a low scoring contest, Mynderse would grab a 12-9 lead after the first quarter of play and added to the lead by outscoring Newark 8-4 in the second period. The score at halftime was shockingly low at 20-13.
