A short documentary about Chatham-Kentâs Black communities can soon be watched through a pair of online film festivals.
The North Star: Finding Black Mecca was scheduled to be available through the Denton Black Film Festival from Jan. 27 to Feb. 1 and the Toronto Black Film Festival from Feb. 10 to Feb. 21.

These festivals do not have location restrictions, so residents from Chatham-Kent can rent a stream of the film from either festival.
A news release said the documentary looks at âthe past and the present of a people who have helped shape this country, but are often left out of its textbooks.â
