Dr. Anthony Fauci finally asked China to release medical records of the Wuhan lab workers to confirm Donald Trump’s intelligence report from more than a year ago.
“I would like to see the medical records of the three people who are reported to have got sick in 2019. Did they really get sick, and if so, what did they get sick with?” the
Financial Times wrote, reporting Fauci’s request.
“The same with the miners who got ill years ago . . . What do the medical records of those people say?” Fauci continued. “Was there [a] virus in those people? What was it? It is entirely conceivable that the origins of Sars-Cov-2 was in that cave and either started spreading naturally or went through the lab.”
China has imposed sanctions on more than two dozen European and British lawmakers, academics and think tanks. The move comes after the European Union and the United Kingdom imposed sanctions on Chinese officials for human rights abuses in China s Xinjiang region.
China contends that its sanctions are tit for tat morally equivalent retaliation in response to those imposed by Western countries. This is false. The European sanctions are for crimes against humanity, whereas the Chinese sanctions seek to silence European critics of the Chinese Communist Party.
The current standoff is, in essence, about the future of free speech in Europe. If notoriously feckless European officials fail to stand firm in the face of mounting Chinese pressure, Europeans who dare publicly to criticize the CCP in the future can expect to pay an increasingly high personal cost for doing so.

At the start of the New Year, the UK’s tax authority, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), issued a series of punitive fines – including its largest-ever punitive sum – against businesses that had breached strict anti-money laundering regulations.
One of those hit by a record fine was a money transfer company. HMRC concluded that the MSB (Money Service Business) had committed serious regulatory breaches in 2017 and 2019. It was fined £23.8 million ($32.4 million), a significant dent in anyone’s budget and profits (the fine is subject to an ongoing appeal).
