South Jersey family members accused of defrauding homeowners
Members of a South Jersey family allegedly defrauded homeowners by offering mortgage adjustment and debt services that, the state Attorney General s Office said in a statement, often made their precarious financial situation even worse.
The Attorney General s Office and state Department of Banking and Insurance (DOBI) Commissioner Marlene Caride said Wednesday they filed suit against four members of the Vanderpoel family, to halt what they characterized as a scheme to defraud struggling homeowners by offering the services that provided no meaningful relief.
The suit was filed Dec. 30 in Burlington County Superior Court; it alleges that Neal J. Vanderpoel II and his wife Eileen P. Vanderpoel, and their sons Ryan Vanderpoel and Neal J.
