Finance Minister Heba Ahmed signed the agreement on behalf of Sudan along with US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. According to a statement issued by the ministry, a memorandum of understanding was signed to facilitate Sudan s payment of its arrears and to enable it to receive more than $1 billion annually from the World Bank for the first time in 27 years.

Welcome To Ladun Liadi s Blog Tuesday, December 15, 2020 US finally removes Sudan from ‘state sponsors of terror’ list The United States has formally removed Sudan’s designation as a “state sponsor of terrorism”, 27 years after putting the country on its blacklist. The announcement was made by the US embassy in Khartoum and comes into effect on Monday. “The congressional notification period of 45 days has lapsed and the Secretary of State has signed a notification stating rescission of Sudan’s State Sponsor of Terrorism designation is effective as of today [December 14], to be published in the Federal Register,” the US embassy said on Facebook.
