Facebook News launches in Australia

Facebook will begin to roll out its special News section to a small number of Australian users today, which will feature content from mostly larger local news outlets.
The launch was delayed due to the discussions around the media bargaining code which became law this year after heated exchanges between publishers, tech platforms and politicians resulted in Facebook temporarily banning all news from its platform in Australia.
ACCC chairman Rod Sims says deals between Facebook and the news publishers would not have been possible without the media bargaining code.
