After a yearlong hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Palm Springs International Film Festival has set dates for its return next year.
The festival will run Jan. 6-17, 2022 a hopeful comeback to its normally prime position on the festival circuit calendar. The Palm Springs event can offer clues as to potential Oscar candidates early in the year.
The festival will open with its star-studded Film Awards Gala in Palm Springs and conclude with the “Best of Fest” awards 11 days later.
This year s festival and gala were canceled last November amid the global surge in COVID-19 cases. The Palm Springs International Film Society announced this year’s film award honorees virtually in February, including Viola Davis, Anthony Hopkins, Andra Day and more. The Palm Springs International Film Festival is making its return as an in-person event for 2022, setting Jan. 6-17 as the dates for the festival.
This will be the 33rd annual edition of the Palm Springs International Film Festival and its subsequent Film Awards Gala, which will take place on Jan. 6 on the festival’s opening night at the Palm Springs Convention Center. Film screenings will begin on Friday, Jan. 7, including the Opening Night presentation, and will conclude with a Best of Fest on Jan. 17.

The Palm Springs International Film Festival Society has revealed the dates for the 33rd annual Palm Springs International Film Festival.
After a year scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic, PSIFF will return and run through Jan. 6-17, 2022. The industry-favored Film Awards Gala is set for Jan. 6, 2022, at the Palm Springs Convention Center.

2022 Palm Springs International Film Festival dates announced
The Palm Springs International Film Festival will return on Thursday, January 6, 2022 through Monday, January 17, 2022.
The Palm Springs International Film Festival Society announced that the Film Awards Gala will take place on January 6 at the Palm Springs Convention Center.
Film screenings will start on Friday, January 7 including the Opening Night presentation that evening and will conclude with Best of Fest on January 17.
