Filling Homes receives mobile scaffolding donation

NAPOLEON — Filling Homes received an unexpected delivery of mobile scaffolding from Granite Industries Inc. recently. Company representative, Jeff Bostelman, made a surprise delivery of the unit to Filling Homes’ maintenance department, who had seen it during a recent search for scaffolding needed to complete projects at the organization’s base facility located on Ohio 108 south of Napoleon. This electric, motorized work platform was passed over at the time due to the cost. Bostleman came up with the idea to donate the item and presented the situation to Granite Industries owner, Steve Wyse. He agreed that they would like to see the equipment put to good use and decided to donate the mobile scaffolding, which has a retail value of $5,000.

EMS personnel first to receive COVID-19 vaccine

Emergency medical services personnel Wednesday were the first to receive the COVID-19 vaccine which arrived at the Henry County Health Department Tuesday morning. The health department received 100 doses of the Moderna vaccine, which received emergency use authorization from the Food and Drug Administration last week. A closed vaccination clinic — meaning it was not open to the public — was hosted at Henry County South Joint Ambulance District in Hamler Wednesday, with 30 individuals from seven different fire and rescue departments participating, according to Scott Buddelmeyer, director of the ambulance district. This is the first of two doses that will be needed. Jeff Brubaker, a member of the Hamler Fire-Marion Township Fire Department and president of the ambulance district board, was the first to receive the vaccine at Wednesday’s clinic.
