neil: all right. the 47 texas democrats that bolted texas to go to watching on the are still in washington. they had a chance the meet joe manchin to help look at our voting laws and ensure voting rights. that s their push. let s get the read from chad pergram. hi, chad. good afternoon. we ll call at this time texas two step. democratic texas legislators used the rules of the state house to flee the lone star state. that blocked passage of a gop voting law but found a safe haven in washington. some democrats want to change the filibuster procedures to pass the voting bill. they met with senator manchin. we re not talking about the
nuclear option. once you range the rule, that means there are no rules now. rules are, there ain t no rules. the majority leader has been amazing. the means in which this was done, was a rather low-down way. republicans were not confirming every appellate court judge as quickly as the administration would like, and holding up some executive appointees a lot. it s not unconstitutional or illegal, but it s constitutionally indecent. we are joined tonight, eugene robinson joins us, msnbc political analyst and columnist for the washington post. eugene, great to have you with us. so the big fear here now is, ooh, the democrats must have done something really, really bad for america. what do they have to fear politically at this point? i realize that average americans don t know all about senate rules and i wouldn t think if you did a man on the street, you might not have people explain exactly what the filibuster procedures are and what not. and i m kind of thinking that
