MARIA Kaitani has been a florist for more than 10 years, taking over her mother’s business after she died. She said her mother was one of the first people to sell flowers at the Suva market.
“My business is based at the flower market in Suva and we do this every day,” she said.
She said sometimes customers called her when she was still in bed. Some would need flowers early in the morning. Some would need a wreath for a casket or arrangements of bouquets for a birthday.

Post Fiji Pte Ltd believes the launch of its back to school competition will bring a much needed comfort and save money for all segments of customers.
Chief executive officer Dr Anirudha Bansod said the launch was delayed this year because of the schools closing date and the challenges facing the people.
As part of the competition customers who spend $30 or more on school stationery at any Postshop or via online through its eShop platform (www.postfiji.fj) and go in the draw to win a range of post shop vouchers totaling more than $10,000.
