FIIs ended their three-day losing streak with an inflow of nearly ₹386 crore ($52 million) in Indian equities, while DIIs turned net sellers after three consecutive days of buying. Investors will be focusing on RBI s June 2023 monetary policy which is scheduled to be announced later this week.
FIIs bought equities worth nearly ₹2,086 crore ($284m) on May 30th. Meanwhile, DIIs sold equities about ₹439 crore on the same day. The Sensex closed at 62,969.13, up 0.20%, while the Nifty 50 rose 0.19% to 18,633.85.
FIIs who have continued to sell since February 22nd, 2023, have cumulatively sold around ₹10,474.01 crore from Indian equities. At the same time, DIIs have consistently invested in the market for the past six days with a cumulative inflow of ₹11,698.79 crore.
In seven trading sessions, Sensex has plummeted by over 2,031 points or 3.3%, while Nifty 50 has shed over 643 points or 3.6%. During these times, investors wealth of nearly ₹10.43 lakh crore has been eroded.
