KIND girl guides walked for miles to offer a helping hand to children s from disadvantaged families. The 5th Gourock group went on a mission to help other youngsters in their own community during lockdown, taking part in individual 5k walks in aid of Children In Poverty Inverclyde. It follows a series of charity challenges by the girls for a whole host of local good causes during a difficult year. Kara McEwen, 14, said: It was a great way to get out and about. We enjoyed the walking. Her friend Kerri McGarrigle added: We really like supporting the charity and helping raise money for Children in Poverty.
