HDZ BiH leader: BiH will never be unitary state

Dragan Čović, the leader of  HDZ BiH, has said that “Bosnia and Herzegovina will never be a unitary state. It will not be a civic state either, in the way that some are thinking and trying to implement it through domination over others”   N1 reported. “Nobody can or will deny us legitimate representation and our rights as a constituent people in our homeland,” Ćović told the Fifth Congress of the Association of the Croatian community of Herceg-Bosna in Mostar. “In BiH, the rights of citizens are realized with the possibility of electing representatives through municipal and city councils, parliamentary houses and county assemblies, while the Presidency of BiH and the upper government levels exist to protect the rights of the three constituent peoples in the country. This is non-negotiable,” he added.

On April 20, the State Department renewed multimillion-dollar bounties on three senior leaders of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK): Cemil Bayık, Duran Kalkan, and Murat Karayılan. Bayık and Karayılan are founding members of the PKK and Kalkan is a senior commander. The Kurdish freedom movement sees these men as instrumental in the defeat of ISIS, but to some this is no recommendation. Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan would rather hit the Kurds than the Islamic State. In renewing the bounties, the State Department has given him tacit permission to attack Kurdish democratic movements in Iraq, Syria, and Turkey, since according to Erdogan they are all really PKK.
