We gave 13,852 acres to Obafemi Awolowo University, not 11,961 hectares, says Ife community

Share The  feud between the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State and its host community over alleged encroachment of OAU land by the latter deepened on Tuesday when the community claimed that it gave the institution 13,852 acres of land (about 5,606 hectares) instead of the 11,961 hectares the institution is reportedly claiming. The community, in a press conference addressed by its president, Jire Awowoyin, at the Ife City Hall, claimed that the university cannot claim the land that was not given to it. According to the community: “We therefore wish to inform the general public that Ife community does not recognise any land allocation or acquisition documents other than the Survey Plan No Ife 41 and the 1965 Gazette where the land area given to the Western Nigerian Government is 13,852 acres as against 11,961 hectares being claimed by the university management.

Robert Clark, known locally as “Rab” or “Sparky”, was last seen at around 8.45pm on Sunday November 15 in the Lumphinnans area. He was riding a red and black coloured Honda CBR600 motorcycle with the registration number SF51 FYT. Chief Inspector Paul Dick from Police Scotland’s Fife Division said: “We would ask members of the public not to approach him but would ask anyone who has seen him or who has any information to please get in touch with us immediately.

Police appeal to trace Fife man missing for over a month

Kingdom FM Police have issued a fresh appeal for help in tracing a man who has been missing from Fife for more than a month. Robert Clark, who is known locally as Rab or Sparky, has not been seen since 8.45pm on Sunday November 15 in the Lumphinnans area. At that time he was riding a red and black coloured Honda CBR 600 motorcycle, with the registration number SF51 FYT. Mr Clark is described as being 5ft 9in, of slim build with short, dark, greying hair. He wears glasses and he is known to have a goatee beard but he may now be clean shaven.
