CHARLEMONT Members of the LGBTQ community and their allies will paddle down the Deerfield River on Saturday in the fourth annual Pride Day on the River.“I’m a gay and queer kayaker,” organizer Ann Gillard said, beginning to describe her inspiration.
FLORIDA â Typically, a 10-mile rafting journey down the Deerfield River can take around six hours.
But, last week, Eli Cantanzaro, a guide for Zoar Outdoor, said he made the run in about an hour.
And after another series of downpours, the Deerfield River has shown little sign of slowing.
At the Fife Brook Dam on the Deerfield River, which usually has scheduled recreational whitewater releases, flows have exceeded station discharge capabilities and spill gates are in use. Greenfield resident gets national recognition for trout study
Greenfield resident Kevin Kaminski was recently named a “Spirit of TU” award winner by the national nonprofit Trout Unlimited for his work in an ongoing two-year investigation on the movement of 30 brown trout in the Deerfield River.
