Not doing City Building inside the jail whether you want to take the model or convert it that makes sense that the triumphing of the needs for jobs in San Francisco and benefiting from our local economy then role one of the best candidates to help that opportunity starts in the system we have the space because our jail population has declined to create the space i reached out to our friends in union labor and others in the Nonprofit Community to examine what the possibilities are for the first time to bring into the San Francisco Sheriffs Department a hard training system. And since it is a component of many local hiring laws and first source laws to hire people that are formerly incarcerated to begin the training process while in custody. Weve preidentified many that apply in the i think the safety not a safety risk that well perform and by the people from a program like a bike repair is a precursor to help us ready ourself and were acquit right for wanting to implement. Weve put in t
Stations. I can think of reserve officer, luke is behind us assigned at the northern station and spend most of his time volunteering in the northern and specialist, we have so many event in the city. We have a big request for reserves to work as a mentioned at different festivals, street fares, police events. You will most likely see a reserve as part of that. Recruitment, we talked a lot about recruitment tonight. We get on a daily basis inquiry about the reserve program about hiring and about training. The chiefs plan, the chief came up with this idea the other day where they said im going send a letter to every officer who is pending retiring and ask if they would be willing to stay on as a reserve officer to participate in the program. It a smooth transition. The benefit of getting them before they retire is move them from an officer to a reserve officer so we dont have to go through that investigative process. So we are working on that letter for the drop off officers and other of
There are a lot of benefit to having a reserve program. I will talk about what we are doing here in San Francisco and other programs that are happening in the state. Reserve officers are individuals who have a desire to serve the public and contribute to the community by providing Public Safety services with no compensation. Thats whats amazing about what they do. They really are the true believers, they are the ones that are committed to Public Safety, and want to make a difference in our community. It goes along with the saying that the public of the police and the police are the public. They are true examples of this by being reserve officers. Officer Jeff Smithers is the program coordinator. Hes a full time Police Officers, a former reserve. He comes to us with that. He had a full life and a full career and retired and became a full duty San Francisco Police Officer. We felt he would be the best choice in knowing the program. His job at the Police Academy is to be a full time coord
Dispatch service and the second Largest Law Enforcement Agency in San Francisco were and were the eyes of the member of the Public Safety family this was a sobering letter to receive. I understand d e m is struggling with their own structural deficits in staffing deficiencys but as i spotlighted in the assessment of how poor and app accurate our services at sf general there is no dispatch its a Communication Center if that that resembles something out of the 1950 not having the services for the Police Department and Fire Department frankly, i think t is madness. And the fact that happened unnoticed by the Public Safety community or the board of supervisors and or the large board of supervisors not having the Emergency Management dispatch systems significantly handicaps our ability to perform the services that be common place for the Sheriffs Department. We received a bill that never occurred before i building it was 6 hundred thousand or something. 6 hundred and 40 thousand. If that sa

Sure enough i read it and it said coroners office, i said no. I love him so much and, just knowing hes not at the house anymore, not seeing his face. This is like the longest ive not seen him. Reporter last thursday, just after midnight, carranza was a passenger in the car with three other men believed to be his friend. A handgun in the car went off. Carronzo was dropped off at the hospital. At this point it seems like they may have been handling the gun and they did not know the gun was loaded. Reporter its not believed that it was gang related. If it was an accident. Just man up. If youre around your friends you should be safe, period. Reporter his family calling the shooting senseless. He didnt deserve it. Hes not a bad kid. Reporter his mother says her heart will keep aching until she gets closure. I cant ev
