you may recall that day after the attack happened, the pentagon was literally still in flames and they were trying to save people, pull them out of the building that was smoldering. a group of workers unfurled the american flag alongside the image of the pentagon and of the resilience of this building. within literally within a matter of minutes after the attack people here in the pentagon were making their way back into the building to continue working. they knew that with this attack and with the attacks in new york and in shanksville they knew they had a job to do, that this was an attack on america and that this building would be the one responding. they moved right back into the building. as a sign of the resilience here they put that american flag out. it was something that was out for people to see for a matter of days afterwards and it s really this symbol of the attack of remembering the people who were killed in this attack and of the fact that this building, despite the fact
