principle. we are skating on thin ice as a country right now, laura. and i think this takes us one step further in the wrong direction. we have to stand on the side of principle, not politics. that goes for everybody in this g.o.p. primary. and i have been vocal for a reason. laura: vivek, you said you are one of the candidates who would support trump as the nominee if he wins the nomination. but, if he is convicted of a crime, here s how former governor of maryland, larry hogan reacted to this. watch. that was the low light of the entire debate. i mean, i was embarrassed and disgusted by it. you know, for six people to raise their hand and say i would put a convicted felon in the white house, it s just beyond comprehension. i mean, in most states, convicted felons don t even have the right to vote. they are not registered voters but we would put them in the white house? laura: the establishment didn t like the rallying around donald trump because they don t like the views of don
donald trump in all the polls, again, he came in losing support in terms of the polls. he has been sliding. losing donors. and even losing staff. and, yesterday, he, again, it did look like he was an after thought on the stage. he was standing there. but i can t tell you that he made an impression. some of the fallout from that section of the debate last night. this is on cavuto today. the question is if he is a convicted felon owhy want to support him? i don t believe it s right for a convicted felon to be the president of the united states i don t think any republican should want our standard-bearer, let alone our president of the united states, to be a convicted felon. bret: yeah. jason. that was the hand raise and kind of was like one side of the row raised their hands and everybody
former president if he is the g.o.p. nominee. christie and former arkansas govgovernor asa hutchison did nt raise their hands facing a chorus of boos from the audience. here s the bottom line, someone has got to stop normalizing this conduct. desantis is still polling second in most polls. the gap between him and former president trump has been growing but the candidate who took the most heat was ramaswamy. his campaign has been surging in recent polling, suggesting candidates may no longer see desantis as their most immediate threat. bret? bret: all right, mike. thank you. more on this with the panel a bit later. president biden s campaign has had plenty of time and plenty of things to say about the debate, all of it, as you can imagine, negative towards the candidates and their policies. white house correspondent peter doocy also a that part of the story tonight live from the north lawn. good evening, peter. peter: bret, president biden s long dormant re-election campaign is
the greatest political come back of all time. imagine if after all of this that, is the result. would there be enough hefty bags to hold the heads that would explode off the shoulders of left wing partisans across the u.s.? it s not out of the realm of possibility. well, it would be ironic. you see the effect it s had on the republican polls for the primary. i think the real danger there from a political perspective is being caused by the state prosecutors. people sense they are publicity hounds. they both campaigned on going on donald trump. that should be a recusal issue. on the federal side, the federal charges are something he will have to contend with. i part company with mike. we will see what the evidence
government funding bill. that is all nothing more than an exercise to try and block republicans into this support. and bret today the pentagon announced that the u.s.s. will begin training ukrainian pilots on f-16s right here at home in tucson, arizona. as early as october. bret? bret: aishah hasnie on capitol hill. aishah, thanks. up next, the panel on former president trump s imminent surrender in georgia. it should be happening at the end of this hour. landing there. and last night s production presidential debate a review of that. now it s been put in the hands of the people. that s great. when it comes to a federal ban, it will take a majority of the house. so, in order to do that, let s find consensus. and nikki, you are my friend but consensus is the opposite of leadership.
