A program offering supports to youth with fetal alcohol syndrome and their families needs more funding to ensure it's more equally available in all of New Brunswick's 15 First Nations communities, according to Noel Milliea, a Mi'kmaw elder.
The province will dedicate $800,000 to increase support for fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. The funding will be used by the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Centre of Excellence in Dieppe and will go toward providing increased access and diagnostic capacity.
