REPORTERS ASSOCIES
RM Sotheby’s says it plans to have four stunning Ferraris at its Milan, Italy, sale on June 14-15. The sale is taking place at the Palazzo Serbelloni.
The auction house says the sale’s highlight is the 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB that French screenwriter Roger Vadim purchased new and later passed to his then wife, actress Jane Fonda. The light blue car, chassis No. 08641, is a long nose and torque tube example. Vadim bought it on June 15, 1966, and three months later transferred the registration to Fonda. After Fonda owned the car, it moved to Lyon and a handful of French collectors. In the early 1970s the car was entered in a few French club races, before it was sold to its current owner about 20 years ago. RM Sotheby’s says the car has Ferrari Classiche red book certification confirming its matching numbers. The auction house estimates the car will go for between $2.4 and $3 million.
