Ceconomy Appoints Dr Karsten Wildberger As CEO
DUESSELDORF (dpa-AFX) - German consumer electronics retailer Ceconomy AG (MTAGF.PK, MTTRY.PK) Monday announced the appointment of Dr Karsten Wildberger as Chief Executive Officer of the company.
Wildberger succeeds Dr Bernhard Düttmann, who has been leading the company on an interim basis as CEO since October 2019. Wildberger will also take over the position as Chief Executive Officer of Media- Saturn-Holding-GmbH from Ferran Reverter Planet.
Wildberger, currently Chief Operating Officer at E.ON SE, has a broad international expertise from various industries. We are very pleased to have Dr Wildberger join us in the role of CEO of CECONOMY AG, says Thomas Dannenfeldt, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of CECONOMY. He brings to the company experience with traditional sales models in stationary retail and the transformation towards a growing omnichannel provider with a strong digital focus and profitable service business.
Oscar Grau sacked as Barcelona CEO

Oscar Grau, former president Josep Maria Bartomeu’s right-hand man, has been sacked as FC Barcelona’s CEO. Joan Laporta, the new club president, has appointed Ferran Reverter to replace him.
Grau had been in charge since 2016, but his exit was communicated to him today. Pere Jansà, director of the club’s social section, has also been let go.
Bartomeu had put him in charge of negotiating transfers for the first team. A former handball player for FC Barcelona, he was also a Spanish international and a European Cup winner in that sport.

Much has been said about FC Barcelona s financial crisis in recent months. However, a fresh audit has revealed to the new board that they have a monumental task ahead of them if they want to turn the situation around in the fastest time possible.
One thing is clear, the situation is worse than initially thought. Club members who are hoping for positive changes in the upcoming transfer window may be up for a disappointment.
Newly-elected club president Joan Laporta and his new board have carried out an audit to analyse the mess that they have inherited from Josep Maria Bartomeu and his team. The continuing losses brought about by the novel coronavirus pandemic has also compounded the problem.
