The Cornish have favourite pasty shops like they have favourite football teams. Passable pastries don’t stand a chance, says Fergus Muller, owner of Ann’s Pasties
Popular Cornish institution Ann s Pasties is looking to expand its offerings over the next month with a new premises and also, eventually, two permanent bars. Ann s Pasties has applied to Cornwall Council for a premises license in the hopes that both its Porthleven and The Lizard shops will eventually be able to serve both pasties and pints, once restrictions allow. The pasty maker, which is well known locally and prides itself on using produce gathered from within a ten-mile radius, has had quite the journey throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and is now looking to give back to the local community that supported it through the local and national lockdowns.
