âFenton â The Fenton Freedom Festival has a new queen.
âMai Nguyen, Fenton High School junior, was crowned the 2021 Fenton Freedom Festival Queen on Friday, July 2 during the Street Experience in downtown Fenton.Â
âShe said she was âreally excitedâ to be chosen. Last yearâs queen, Chelsea Bujak, crowned Nguyen in front of an applauding crowd.Â
ââI know there were a lot of really good contenders,â she said. âToday was really fun.â
âNguyen thanked her family, friends and Fenton officials who put on the event and scholarship program. Applicants go through an interview process and answer questions about their involvement in the community, how they want to give back, and what Fenton means to them.Â
