The Digital Green Certificate, introduced by the European Commission, the executive arm of the European Union (EU), and expected to be implemented from June, will help ease restrictions on non-essential travels to the EU. Industry insiders and observers said that those measures will give a boost to the gloomy tourism sector though there is a long way to go before the sector reaches the pre-pandemic levels.

  China-European Union (EU) Geographical Indications (GIs) Agreement took effect on Monday, injecting a dose of stimulus into bilateral trade, and marking another milestone in cooperation between China and the EU.   GI is the label used for identifying the geographical origin of a product, and is also an important type of intellectual property right.   According to the agreement, 100 GIs from each side, involving liquor, tea, food and farm produce, came under protection on the same day, which means consumers from China and the EU could buy authentic specialities of each other without worries about the inferior and fake goods.   As China s first comprehensive, high-level bilateral agreement on GIs, its coming into effect fully testifies to China and the EU s commitment to upholding free and open trade, and supporting rules-based multilateral trading system, China s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin said on Monday.
