The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has called on President Bola Tinubu to immediately discontinue the four-year illegal persecution of human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, by the Nigerian government. Sowore, convener of #RevolutionNow, was also the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), in the February 25 presidential election.

AAC Party Lambasts Tinubu Government, Demands End To Trumped-Up Trial Of Sowore, Manipulation Of Judiciary

The African Action Congress (AAC) has kicked against the purported secret postponement of the treason trial of the presidential candidate of the party, Omoyele Sowore, at the Federal High Court in Abuja. The party described the plot as an attempt to manipulate the judiciary and keep the case going on in perpetuity. The AAC stated this in a statement on Monday issued by the National Publicity Secretary, Femi Adeyeye, on Monday just as it insisted that all charges against Sowore must be dropped.

Nigerian University, UNILAG Students Protest Against Closure Of Registration As Thousands Yet To Pay Risk Expulsion

  Some students of the University of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria on Friday stormed the office of the institution's Dean of Students’ Affairs, to protest against the planned closure of the registration by the management.   The students, seen in their large numbers in a video obtained by SaharaReporters, were pleading with the school management to be considerate of their plights and extend the registration closure date for thousands of them who had yet to pay their fees due to the sudden increase in tuition fees a few months ago.

Some Nigerians on X (formerly Twitter) have lambasted a Labour Party stalwart and Nollywood star, Kate Henshaw, for heading the second term fundraiser for the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Henshaw, Okey Bakassy and some other celebrities will head the hosting of the fundraiser for Governor Uzodimma’s re-election in the forthcoming November governorship election in the state.
