Nearly three months after a 1-year-old Kingsbridge Heights boy tragically died from fentanyl exposure at a Fordham day care, elected officials introduced legislation that would require inspectors to thoroughly inspect the full premises of childcare facilities.
The father of the one-year-old boy who died after he was exposed to fentanyl at a Bronx drug mill posing as a day care center said Thursday he feels betrayed by its owner who pleaded not guilty to murder charges the same day.
Little Nicholas Dominici was inside the Divino Niño Daycare in Kingsbridge on Sept. 15 when he died of acute fentanyl intoxication, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled Friday.
Felix Herrera, 38, was transported to San Diego to face federal drug charges. Herrera and his wife allegedly ran a drug-peddling operation out of a Bronx day care center where a tot died from fentanyl exposure on Sept. 15.
